Make the useful action easy to follow.
A whole desktop can make a small button almost disappear in a video. SuperNotch combines region recording with an editor where you decide which moments need a closer look.
- Product demos: show a starting problem, one interaction and its result.
- Customer support: explain a setting or reproduce a bug with optional narration.
- Tutorials: add your camera when a personal explanation helps, and zoom toward the control viewers need to see.
From recording area to finished MP4.
- Open Screen Recording and choose Select Recording Area. Frame the relevant app or part of your screen.
- Select the microphone and camera options you need. Grant the requested macOS permissions, then record a short test.
- Start recording, demonstrate the action and stop once the result is visible.
- In the editor, add a zoom at the useful moment. Use Set Center, then adjust scale and duration.
- Split around an unwanted pause, select the middle clip and delete it. Preview the join, then choose Export MP4.
Watch the exported file before sharing it. Check framing, audio, the zoom transition and whether small text remains readable in its final placement.
When is the built-in Mac recorder enough?
For a basic capture, press Shift–Command–5 to open the macOS Screenshot toolbar. You can select a recording area and choose a microphone in Options. Apple also documents QuickTime recording.
Start there for a straightforward walkthrough. SuperNotch is useful when you want camera capture, editable zooms and clip removal in the same workflow. The product demo recording guide goes deeper into planning a clear demonstration.
You choose the zooms.
This workflow uses manual, editable zoom placement. It does not promise to automatically select every important click. Set the focus point and timing yourself, and review the transition before export.
Screen recording needs macOS screen capture permission; microphone and camera options need their respective permissions. Keep a keyboard-display overlay inside the selected region if you want it included in the recording. Recordings are saved on your Mac, rather than automatically uploaded to a hosted video service.
Common questions
Does SuperNotch automatically zoom on every click?
The workflow described here uses zooms you add and adjust in the editor. You control their center, scale and duration.
Can I record without a microphone or webcam?
Yes. Enable only the inputs you need. Screen-only recording is useful when the action is clear without narration.
Can I remove a mistake after recording?
Yes. Split around the unwanted section, select that clip and delete it, then preview the edited result.
Is this a Loom-style hosted sharing service?
No. This feature exports local MP4 files. Upload the result to your preferred platform when you are ready to share it.
One useful feature. A whole toolkit.
This feature is included in SuperNotch’s 24-tool bundle. The first 50 buyers pay $5; the regular price is $19. One lifetime purchase covers two personal Macs and future versions. Check the pricing page for the current offer.
